A deli first.
A restaurant by accident.
The Italian Job began the way most good things do — quietly, and with the smell of coffee. A small family deli in Bryanston, stocked with the imported pastas, cheeses and oils we grew up with at home.
Then people asked if they could eat the food we cooked for ourselves. So we put a few tables between the shelves. And then a few more. Today, Lorenzo's open kitchen serves Bryanston's locals every day — while Claudia greets every guest like family.
Come for lunch
Claudia
Front of house. Knows your name by the second visit. Will recommend a wine you didn't know you needed.
Lorenzo
Open kitchen. Daily menu. Quiet confidence. Famous for the seafood spaghetti and the crab cigars.
The Family
Everyone who shows up every morning to unpack the deli, fold the napkins, and pour the coffee.

Simple, honest, daily.
There is no fixed menu. There is no marketing department. There is a shipment of fresh fish on Friday, a craving for something fried on Saturday, and a long table waiting for Sunday lunch.
That's the whole secret. Fresh ingredients, family recipes, and the kind of hospitality that makes Bryanston feel a little like Bologna.
